Rep. Jim Jordan attacks Hillary Clinton

WASHINGTON – After spending two years probing a 2012 terrorist attack on a U.S. diplomatic compound in Libya that killed four Americans, GOP Rep. Jim Jordan of Champaign County on Tuesday issued a blistering critique of how the Obama administration and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton handled the tragedy. As the Select Committee on Benghazi issued a lengthy report about the attack, Jordan and a Kansas colleague on the select committee – Mike Pompeo – issued their own finding of “a tragic failure of leadership” by the Obama administration.

The pair accused the Obama administration and Clinton of being “so blinded by politics” and the desire to win elections that they disregarded the government’s basic duty to “tell people the truth.”

“It is too soon to know how Clio—the goddess of history—will ultimately treat Secretary Clinton’s push to intervene in Libya,” they wrote. “What we do know is that when given a chance to tell the truth to the American people, she did the opposite.”
